Ethel Barrymore Theatre

The Ethel Barrymore Theatre opened in 1928 and has since then been renowned for hosting phenomenal plays and musicals. A prominent theater architect of the early 20th century, Herbert J. Krapp designed the theater to reflect a stunning blend of Elizabethan, Mediterranean, and Adam styles. The theater is named after one of the most celebrated actresses of her time and part of the renowned Barrymore acting family, Ethel Barrymore.

Notable Performances

  • “The Kingdom of God” (1928): The theater’s debut production, starring Ethel Barrymore herself.
